Emerald, a Boxer Mix from Ohio, has become a symbol of perseverance and hope as she spends nearly five years waiting for a forever home. Rescued in October 2019 in poor condition, Emerald was taken in by a local shelter where she has since lived. Despite her friendly and affectionate nature, Emerald remains without a family of her own.
The shelter staff describe Emerald as a “people pleaser” who is eager to make new friends and find a loving home. Her extended stay at the shelter is a poignant reminder of the many animals waiting for adoption. Despite her lengthy wait, Emerald’s optimism and loving demeanor continue to inspire both the shelter staff and potential adopters.
The shelter is hopeful that the right family will come forward soon to give Emerald the home she deserves. In the meantime, Emerald remains a beloved resident of the shelter, waiting patiently for her chance to finally be part of a family.
