The annual Tri-Pawed Picnic in San Francisco may not have snagged an official Guinness World Record, but they've certainly earned bragging rights! This year's event, held on June 23rd, brought together a whopping 94 three-legged canine companions, unofficially claiming the title for the largest gathering of its kind.
The previous record, according to the San Francisco Standard, sits at 75 three-legged pups. While Tri-Pawed Picnic founder Franny Corsick acknowledges they opted not to pursue official recognition this year due to logistical hurdles, the organization is setting its sights even higher. Their goal? To break their own record in 2025!
The picnic itself has come a long way since its humble beginnings. The inaugural event, back in 2009, saw just one participant. Today, it's a vibrant celebration of resilience and joy, bringing together three-legged pups and their humans for a day of fun, friendship, and community.
